Sea Otter Bicycling Classic offers fun, team-building and fund-raising for FWD Patrols

Far West Division Patrol Leaders, Board members:

The US’s largest bicycling event, the Sea Otter Classic, is coming April 15-18, 2010 to Laguna Seca Raceway between Monterey and Salinas, CA.  This huge event, with almost 10,000 participants, 60,000 spectators and 350 trade show exhibitors, offers a fun, team-building and fund-raising opportunity for FWD patrols and patrollers/spouses/friends and family.

You will find three items attached (click on the link):
A Sea Otter “recruitment poster” that can be shared with your patrol, posted in the patrol room, ect.
A Sea Otter “recruitment flyer” (two-up on an 8.5X11 page), that can be printed and handed out to your patrollers
A Sea Otter Question and Answer sheet, that attempts to answer any questions you or your patrollers might have.

Please note that each patroller or  course marshall earns $30 per day for their work (for your patrol) and that we have six SAG driver positions ($150 per day, that we assign to the patrols with the largest number of members in attendance) - and that these positions do “fill out” - once filled, we can’t take any more.

Hence, please share with your members, and consider sending a first-aid and volunteer contingent.  Last year, the FWD was represented by 11 different patrols and 34 individual patrollers - we had great fun and earned $2,700 for varied FWD patrols.

Please contact me with any questions, and have your patrollers contact me, when they desire to sign-up for a day, or more!
